Espero que tenham tido um excelente Natal junto das pessoas que mais gostam, que é essa a essência da ocasião. O meu Natal foi excelente, com os excessos do costume e que sabem bem uma vez por ano, mas consegui ficar doente no dia seguinte. Tive três dias de cama e é nestas alturas que nós nos apercebemos do factor mais importante que condiciona a nossa vida: a saúde.
Pode parecer cliché, mas nosso estado físico e psicológico é a base para tudo e quando a base está fraquinha, parece que mais nada corre bem. E é por isso que, esta semana e todos os dias, o meu principal desejo é ter bastante saúde para aproveitar cada dia ao máximo.
E é também o que desejo a vocês todos. Alimentem-se bem, passem tempo com as pessoas que vos fazem rir por dentro, bebam água alcalina, respirem ar puro e sejam felizes.

I hope you have all had an amazing Christmas with all the people you love the most, because that's what this holiday is all about. My Christmas was great, with all the over eating that comes along but feels really good once a year, but somehow I managed to get sick the next day. I was in bed for 3 days and those are the times when you realize what is the most important thing in life: health.
It may seem like a cliché, but your physical and mental states are the foundation to everything and when that base is weak, nothing seems to go right. And that is why, this week and everyday, my biggest craving is to have plenty of health to enjoy every single minute of every day.
And that's what I wish for you too. Eat well, spend time with those who make you laugh, drink alcaline water, breath fresh air and be happy.

REVIEW - creme cup by MAC

Encontrar o batom nude perfeito para os nossos lábios pode ser uma tarefa difícil, principalmente quando a oferta é tanta e não sabemos por onde começar. Dependendo do nosso tom de pele, ele pode ter tons mais neutros, como o bege e o creme, ou pode ser num tom mais rosado.
No meu caso, a minha pele é olive e os tons rosa nos lábios favorecem-me mais, ao contrários dos beges que me deixam com a boca ''morta''.
Depois de experimentar todos os nudes existentes na MAC, trouxe comigo o Creme Cup.

Finding the perfect nude lipstick that really compliments us can turn into a very difficult task, especially when you have so many to choose from and don't know exactly where to start. According to your skintone, you can either rock a more beige or caramel undertoned lipstick or a pink undertoned one.
In my case, since I have olive skin, the rosy ones look better on me whilst the others make my mouth look ''dead''.
After trying every single nude lipsticks in the MAC store, I brought with me the beautiful Creme Cup.

Ele tem um acabamento cremesheen, o que lhe confere um certo brilho, hidratação e uma pigmentação que parece que estamos a usar baton e gloss. 

É um nude com tons rosados que fica bem com qualquer maquilhagem, principalmente como complemento a um smokye eye ou algo mais dramático nos olhos. Vai ser a minha escolha para a passagem de ano!

It is cremesheen, which gives it a subtle shimmer, very good hidration and a pretty pigmentation that makes it look like your wearing lipstick and gloss on top.

It is a nude with rosy undertones that goes well with every makeup you decide to do, especially as a complement to a smokye eye or a more dramatic eye look. It will be my choice for the new year's eve!

REVIEW - Naked3 by Urban Decay

Finalmente recebi a minha Naked3! Se as outras duas paletas se assemelhavam no facto de serem compostas por tons mais nude e matte, esta destaca-se pela dominância dos tons rosa e com mais sombras brilhantes. Isto foi o suficiente para me convencer. Apesar de adorar uma make mais neutra, um pouquinho de cor e brilho não faz mal a ninguém, além de que é possível criar infinitos looks com estas 12 sombras!

I finally receiver my Naked3! If the other palettes were very similar when it comes to having more nude and matte shadows, this one is a breath of fresh air for having more rose-hued shadows, both matte and shimmering. This was just enough to convince me. Even though I love a neutral makeup, a bit of color and glitter never hurt anybody, and you can create a million looks with these 12 shadows!

Para começar, a embalagem é linda e obviamente a mais bonita das três: num tom ouro-rosa, com as letras douradas e com relevo. A caixa em si é ''dura'', assim como a Naked2, o que é uma grande melhoria em relação à Naked original e traz, mais uma vez, o enorme espelho que tem o comprimento da embalagem.

First of all, this is a gorgeous packaging and obviously the prettiest of the Naked family: it is rosegold with golden 3D letters. It's a hardcase, just like Naked2, which is a huge improvement from the first Naked and brings, once again, the big mirror that is always a part of a Naked palette.

O primeiro tom é quase branco e é geralmente usado para iluminar abaixo das sobrancelhas, para dar aquele push up ao olhar, e para iluminar o canto interno do olho. Seguem-se então os tons rosa, a maioria com brilho e alguns tons mais nude e matte, um tom mais dourado com brilho, outros mais bronze, também com brilho e no final um tom grafite com brilho e um preto matte com partículas de glitter vermelho, daí entitulado ''Blackheart''.

The first shadow is a very pale almost white tone and it's used to highlight under your brow bone, giving you a push up look, and also to highlight the inner corner of your eyes. You then have the rose-hued shadows, most of them have a shimmer to it, some are more on the nude side and you also get a more golden shadow, a grafitte one and a matte black with rosy red glitter called ''Blackheart'' (genious!).

Além das 12 sombras, a embalagem traz também um pincel de duas pontas, uma para aplicar a sombra nas pálpebras e outra mais indicada para esfumar no canto externo do olho, e ainda quatro amostras de primers que duram para cerca de uma semana de aplicações.

Besides the 12 shadows, you also get a double-ended eye brush, one end works well when applying the shadow on your lid and the other is great for smoking it out. You also get a four sample primer pack that should last you about a week or so.

Claro que é absurdo pensarem que devem ter as três paletas da Naked, a não ser que sejam maquilhadoras profissionais e realmente precisem. Eu tenho a 2 e a 3 e garanto-vos que é muito mais do que eu preciso no que toca a tons mais neutros e, para quem gosta de maquilhagens mais discretas, uma destas paletas é um excelente investimento pois têm imensa qualidade, duram bastante tempo e são super versáteis.
Podem adiquirir a Naked3 no site oficial da Urban Decay (52$) ou numa Sephora (46€) que tenha stock (caso contrário, eles aceitam encomendas).

Of course I don't expect you guys to feel like you need all the Naked family in your life, only if you are a makeup artist and you will actually use all of the shadows. I have the second and this one and can assure you that it is way enough shadows for one girl when it comes to neutral tones. And if you also love a more neutral eye look, one of this palettes is a great investment, for they have great quality, they last a tone of time and are super versatile.

1 - Recebi recentemente uma Fugifilm instantânea da pessoa que me conhece melhor e tenho andado obcecada com a máquina! O problema é que os 20 filmes já estão quase a acabar e preciso de outro pack urgentemente! Estou a pensar encomendar pela Amazon, que é metade do preço a que são vendidos em lojas físicas.

2 - A minha maior paixão é viajar. Mentira, a minha maior paixão é comer. E nesta altura do ano, apetece-me sempre ir para um sítio com um espírito mais natalício (e mais frio). Ando com imensa vontade de voltar a Londres e gostava muito de ainda conseguir ir este ano! We'll see..

1 - I recently received a Fugifilm instax mini from the one who knows me to the bone and I've been obsessed with it! The problem is I'm running out of packs and need to buy more very soon! I'm probably going to order it on Amazon, since it is a lot cheaper than buying at a store.

2 - My biggest passion is to travel. No, my biggest passion is to eat. And around this time of the year, I always feel like going somewhere colder with a nice christmas vibe. Where all the streets are full of lights and christmas decorations and the shops are full of glowing presents. I'd really love to go to London again and it'd be great if I could actually go for New Year's eve. We'll see...

my first michael kors watch

Os relógios Michael Kors sempre foram os meus preferidos. São pesados, grandes, conseguem ser discretos e ao mesmo tempo chamativos, além de que têm imensa classe. E como eu mencionei neste post, o modelo que me enche o coração é o MK5627.
Esta semana consegui encher o meu ''mealheiro'', corri para o El Corte Inglês, procurei desesperadamente por ele e a senhora disse que estava esgotado. Eu não me resignei, disse que não era possível, que de certeza que havia um escondido algures no stock... Milagre dos milagres, lá estava ele. O último, só para mim! Experimentei, paguei, apertei-o porque era demasiado largo e tem estado no meu pulso deste então.
Ele é dourado e prateado e combina com qualquer coisa, é clássico e ao mesmo tempo casual e foi uma das minhas melhores compras até hoje.

Michael Kors watches have always been my favourite. They're heavy, chunky and can be both classic and low key besides having an attitude that I love. And as I've mentioned in this post, my heart melting model is the MK5627.
I finally filled my ''piggy box'', ran to the store, searched for it desperately and the lady there told me it was sold out. I didn't want to believe that and told her that there must be one left in stock... Miracle of all miracles, there it was. The last one, just for me! Tried it on, paid for it, tightened it because it was too loose on my wrist and it hasn't left my wrist since then.
It is golden and silver, matches with everything, and it was one of my best purchases.

This week's cravings #6

1 - Nenhuma das anteriores paletas Naked me convenceu, mas esta não me escapa. Os tons que ela traz são lindíssimos, além de que grande parte deles tem um certo brilho que torna a maquilhagem mais especial. Além disso, os tons são mais rosados e acastanhados, uma combinação que gosto muito de ver num olho castanho. Já fui à Sephora fazer a minha reserva e na próxima semana vou lá buscar a nova baby.

2 - O Super Orgasm é o meu blush preferido da Nars, ligeiramente mais brilhante que o Orgasm funciona como um blush iluminador. É o próximo que vou comprar!

3 - Mudei de casa este fim-de-semana, como já vos tinha dito, e o meu quarto tem uma parede que está muito ''vazia''. Adoro esta disposição de molduras, com frases e imagens, e é exactamente aquilo que quero fazer na minha parede.

4 - O meu pequeno-almoço tem consistido em batidos, especialmente o meu super smoothie, e faço-o sempre no liquidificador, passando depois para um copo. Mas como muitas vezes tenho que comer a correr e sair, este liquidificador da Kenwood é perfeito. Põe-se os ingredientes directamente no copo com a tampa, coloca-se no aparelho e tem-se o batido pronto para levar connosco.

5 - Os perfumes que eu tenho usado este último ano são o Coco Mademoiselle, da Chanel, e o Alien, do Thierry Mugler. Adoro os dois e vou definitivamente continuar a usá-los, mas sinto a necessidade de um perfume mais suave e mais delicado. Depois de uma hora na Sephora a cheirar todos os frascos possíveis, encantei-me por este. E, depois disso, já voltei lá para o cheirar mais duas vezes e continuo encantada... Além de que o frasco é lindo! Estás a ler isto, Mã?

6-  Desde que comecei a notar no efeito positivo que os batidos têm no meu corpo, tudo o que tem a ver com o assunto é do meu interesse. Descobri este livro na Amazon que explica tudo ao pormenor, desde os diferentes nutrientes às necessidades físicas de cada um, além de detalhar quais os alimentos que as pessoas devem consumir consoante o seu biotipo, condições especiais de saúde, níveis de stress e ansiedade, etc. Vou encomendar o livro e depois faço-vos um review se o achar realmente interessante.

1 - None of the previous Naked palettes were as amazing as this one is, in my opinion. Every single eyeshadow in this palette is absolutely gorgeous and unique, and many have a beautiful sparkle to it which creates a much more glamorous look. The colours are more on the rosy and browny side, a combo I appreciate on a brown eye look. I've already reserved mine at sephora and will get my hands on it next week. Excited!

2 - Super Orgasm is my favourite Nars blush. It is slightly more sparkly than the Orgasm and works as a highlighter blush. It's definitely on my wishlist. 

3 - I moved to a new house this past weekend, as I've mentioned before, so my room is still quite empty. I plan on decorating on of the walls with mirrors and frames with pictures and phrases and found this great inspo with the black frames - it will look great in my room!

4 - My everyday breakfast has consistently been a smoothie, especially my super smoothie, and I always use my blender and then pour it into a glass. But sometimes I have so little time to eat in the morning, so this Kenwood blender is amazing because of its ''2go'' cup. You just simply add your ingredients in the cup, blend, put the lid on and go. How cool ?!

5 - I've been using Coco Mademoiselle, by Chanel, and Alien, by Thierry Mugler, for this past year and, although I love both of them, I feel like I need something else.. something fresher and more delicate. After spending an hour at Sephora smelling every single bottle of perfume, I found what I was looking for. And since then I've got back there twice to smell it again and it completely suits me. Are you reading this, mom?

6 - Since I started to be more consistent on drinking smoothies I've noticed several changes in my body like overall improvement on my mood, my energy and my skin. I found out this book on Amazon and it goes deeply into detail on nutrients, singular physical needs and also a great amout of recipes for smoothies. It also specifies the different macros and micros you should be getting according to your lifestyle, your diseases, you stress and anxiety levels, etc. I'll definitely purchase it and do a review for you guys if it really is as amazing as it sounds.

skinbox november

A possibilidade de poder experimentar vários produtos a um preço que normalmente pagaríamos só por um é o que as beauty box oferecem. Estas caixas de subscrição mensal viraram febre no mundo todo e, claro, eu não podia deixar de experimentar este serviço. Em Portugal trata-se da Skinbox, custa 10€ e vem com cerca de 5 produtos, uns em miniatura, outros em tamanho normal.

Esta foi a minha primeira encomenda e devo dizer que fiquei um bocado desiludida com o tempo de entrega (um mês). Eles avisam que as entregas são feitas até dia 15 do mês subscrito, e por isso estava a contar que ma enviassem antes dessa data, visto que fiz a encomenda ainda em Outubro.

Vamos passar então ao que realmente interessa: o que vem dentro da caixa?!

To be able to get a few products for the price of one is what beauty boxes have to offer. This monthly subscriptions have become a worldwide fever and I had to place my order. In Portugal, it is called Skinbox, it costs 10€ and comer with about 5 products, ones in miniature size, others in regular size.

This was my first order and I got slightly disappointed with the shipping time, because it took 1 month for me to get the box since I first ordered it. I then found out they ship almost all the boxes at once around the 15th and not as soon as you order it.

Anyway.. Lets get to the important part: what is inside the box?!

Para começar, a embalagem é muito fofinha e assim que tiramos a tampa da caixa temos um papel com as informações sobre os produtos.

Desta vez recebi um verniz da Andreia, marca que eu não conhecia, um BB cream da Embryolisse e três produtos da Caudalie: o gel de duche, o hidratante de corpo e o shampoo fortificante.

First of all, the packaging is the cutest and once you get the lid off you see a paper with all the detailing of the products.

I received an Andreia nail polish, a brand I didn't know of, an Embryolisse BB cream and three Caudalie products: a shower gel, a body lotion and a fortifying shampoo.

Para já, ainda só usei o hidratante e o gel de duche da Caudalie e gosto bastante dos dois. Cheiram muito bem e são bastante bons para peles sensíveis (o meu caso actual).
Para receberem a vossa skinbox em casa, visitem o skin.pt e criem a vossa ficha. É bastante personalizável, sendo que vocês podem escolher que tipo de produtos preferem (para as unhas, cabelo, pele, dentes, etc).
Devo dizer que não foi a minha caixa ideal, mas a parte boa é que se pode actualizar a ficha de acordo com as nossas necessidades, e vou com certeza dar uma segunda chance à Skinbox e ver como corre!

For now, I've only tried the shower gel and the body lotion from Caudalie and I really like both of them. They smell very good and are great for sensitive skin (my current issue).

I must say this wasn't my ideal box, but the good thing is I can update my profile according to my necessities, and I'll give the second box a try!

sunday quick update

Gostava muito de ter o meu post habitual de domingo, o This Week's Cravings, mas estive a semana toda a encaixotar a minha vida e ontem foi o dia em que mudei de casa, e não tive tempo sequer de pensar em compras (ou outra coisa qualquer que não seja caixas a malas de viagem).

Na minha opinião, comprar prendas para as raparigas é sempre mais fácil do que para os rapazes. Foi difícil fazer uma selecção de entre as muitas ideias que tinha, mas penso que acabei com uma oferta bastante equilibrada.

Para as raparigas da minha idade, gosto sempre de oferecer os kits que as minhas lojas preferidas de cuidados com o corpo fazem nesta altura (The Body Shop, Zara Home, Lush e Sephora). As mães também têm direito a um pijama quentinho e uma jóia ou um bom livro também são sempre uma prenda certeira. Recebi uma Diana mini no meu último aniversário e adoro-a, tenho a certeza que vai ser uma excelente prenda, e a um preço acessível, para aquela amiga próxima que adora fotografia. E como nós também temos direito a mimar-nos um bocadinho mais nesta altura, o novo iPad mini é um investimento que vale mesmo a pena, assim como as doces pulseiras da Pandora.

Não se esqueçam que é fundamental mostrarmos o nosso amor pelas pessoas que gostamos todos os dias do ano. E, se o Natal é a única oportunidade que têm para estar com a família toda, aproveitem esses dias ao máximo!

In my opinion, buying gifts for girls is way easier than buying for boys. It was hard making a selection from the many ideas I had, but I believe I ended up with a nice balanced list.

For girls my age, I like to buy the packs that my favourite stores come up with during this time (The Body Shop, Zara Home, Lush and Sephora). Moms also deserve a confy pajama and a piece of jewellery and a nice book are always a hit. I received a Diana mini on my last birthday and absolutely love it, I'm sure you'll find a special girl to give this too. And it's not really expensive! And since you deserve to spoil ourselves once in a while, the new iPad mini is an investment worth making and so are the sweet Pandora bracelets.

Don't forget that it is essential to show your love everyday throughout the year. And if Christmas is the only chance you get to be around your whole family, treasure it!

Chegámos a Dezembro (what? como?) e o a loucura começa-se a instalar lentamente pelos centros comerciais. Para evitar darmos aquelas prendas desnecessárias, que acabam por ir para a caixa do armário ou simplesmente desaparecer do mapa, resolvi dar-vos algumas dicas em relação ao que oferecer ao nosso amigo especial, irmão, namorado, pai... Fiz uma pequena pesquisa junto dos homens mais próximos de mim e cheguei a esta pequena simpática lista. Os pais agradecem um pijama confortável e quentinho nesta altura do ano, assim como uma capa para o novo iphone. Os namorados inclinam-se mais para as carteiras, relógios e os cuidados com a pele. Já os irmãos nunca recusam um artigo tecnológico.

Espero ter ajudado e fiquem à espera da minha lista para as meninas.

December has arrived (what? how?) and with it comes a not so pleasant shopping madness. To avoid giving the ones we love those unnecessary gifts, that usually end up never being used, I decided to guide you on a little shopping list for your special friend, boyfriend, brother, or even your dad. I gathered some information from my special guys and ended up with this nice little list. Dads appreciate a warm cozy pajama during this time of the year as well as a fancy cover for their new iphone. Boyfriends tend to lean more towards wallets, nice watches and skincare. On the other hand, brothers never refuse a nice technological device.

1 - Os meus lábios têm andado muito mais secos do que o normal, especialmente agora que o Inverno veio para ficar, o que me obriga a ter sempre um hidratante comigo. E como é algo que uso bastante no dia-a-dia, faço questão de investir em produtos de boa qualidade e duração. O Crème de Rose é uma excelente escolha, por todas as suas propriedades hidratantes e calmantes, além do seu cheiro maravilhoso.

2 - Eu faço máscaras faciais pelo menos uma vez por semana. Sinto que melhora o aspecto, brilho e elasticidade da minha pele, além de fazer uma limpeza mais profunda. Já ouvi falar (bem) tantas vezes sobre a GlamGlow que estou mesmo curiosa por a experimentar. Algum de vocês já experimentou? O que acharam?

3 - Como já disse em vários outros posts, o facto de eu usar essencialmente roupa preta faz com que recorra a acessórios mais coloridos. Nesta altura do ano, não nenhum acessório mais indicado do que o lenço e este da Asos têm um padrão que gosto bastante, além de ser super grosso e comprido.

4 - Não vos consigo dizer o quão obcecada sou por esta pulseira, desde a primeira vez que a vi, tanto no pulso da Annabelle, como no da Sandra. Esta semana estive a fazer a lista de prendas para oferecer no Natal e voltei a dar de caras com a pulseira. Querooooo!

5 - Estou numa fase de listas, agendas e cadernos pequeninos. Este black book é a minha cara e perfeito para escrever todas as ideias que vou tendo ao longo do dia.

6 - Como já devem ter percebido, ando numa de acessórios dourados. E este anel não é lindo? Mais uma das descobertas que fiz no mundo do online shopping. Visitem o site, tem coisas super giras!

1 - My lips have been drier than ever, especially now that the winter has arrived, which forces me to carry a lip balm with me all the time. And since it is something I use every five minutes, I don't mind splurging a little bit on higher quality products. This Crème de Rose is an excellent choice, due to its super hydrating and soothing properties, not to mention the amazing rosy smell it has.
2 - I do facial masks at least once a week. I really feel it makes my skin feel lighter, cleaner and also improves its elasticity. I've heard a lot of good things about this Glam Glow and I'm really curious to see if it really works on me. Has anyone ever tried it? Is it that good?
3 - Like I've sad in previous posts, I wear a lot of black outfits which I like to compensate with more colourful accessories. During this colder time of the year, there's nothing more appropriate than a cozy scarf and this Asos's one has a really nice pattern, besides being super long and chunky.
4 - I can't tell you how obsessed I've been over this bracelet, since the first time I saw it on both Annabelle's and Sandra's wrist. I've been doing some christmas online shopping this week and bumped into it again. Want iiiiiiit!
5 - I've really been into writing down to-do lists, and general thoughts. This black book is perfect for me and super inspiring to write down my everyday thoughts and ideas. 
6 - As you may have noticed, I'm a golden accessories phase. Isn't this ring gorgeous? Another thing I bumped into while doing some online shopping. Don't miss out on this online store, it has so many pretty things!

Não há dia melhor para o fazer do que ao domingo e na semana passada a escolha foi o Olivier Avenida, que tem um espaço lindíssimo e o buffet consiste numa inspiração de alguns dos pratos dos emblemáticos restaurantes do Chef Olivier.

There aren't many things better to do on a sunday than having a fantastic brunch. Last week we chose Olivier Avenida, which has a beautiful environment and the buffet consists on an inspiration of a few of the dishes from the emblematic Chef Olivier's restaurants .

On your entry you're welcomed with a selection of fresh juices and escorted to your table.

Iniciámos com os pães, queijos e carnes frias. Passámos ao sushi, à massa com cogumelos porcinni e ao caril de frango. Terminámos na selecção de sobremesas, da qual faz parte o mítico bolo de chocolate do Chef.

Foi uma refeição que bem chegava para alimentar um continente durante três anos, mas sabe sempre bem poder passar horas sentadas num espaço bonito, com gente bonita e boa comida.

O preço do brunch é de 20€. Sim, não é um brunch extremamente acessível, mas garanto que vale a pena ir pelo menos uma vez.

We started off with various breads, cheeses and cold meats. We then tried the sushi, the porcinni penne and the chicken yellow curry. Perfectly ended it with a few (too many for just one person) desserts, including the mythic chocolate cake by Chef Olivier.
It was a huuuuge meal, enough to feed a continent for three years, but it's always nice to be able to spend a few hours on a pretty place, with pretty people and great food.
You pay 20€ for the brunch, which is not the cheapest choice, but I guarantee it's worth going at least once.

1 - Que eu sou viciada em maquilhagem já não é novidade para ninguém. E sempre que vejo um lançamento novo, com uma publicidade bem feita, fico rendida. Fiquei a conhecer este gloss da hourglass através de algumas das minhas youtubers preferidas e desde então ele tem ficado nos meus pensamentos diários (sim, eu sou assim tão fútil). Especialmente esta semana, em que estou em mood vermelho, é este gloss que lidera a minha wishlist.
2 - É mesmo preciso falar sobre esta mala? A preta foi a escolhida para vos mostrar, mas eu gosto de todos os modelos igualmente. É tão... argh. Quero-te!
3 - Eu não tenho nenhuns ténis que sejam simples e bonitos o suficiente para o dia-a-dia e os new balance sempre foram amor-a-todas-as-vistas. São elegantes, têm uma ligeira altura na parte de trás e são super confortáveis. Inicialmente queria o modelo em preto, mas depois cheguei à conclusão que precisava de alguma cor no meu dia-a-dia, visto que praticamente só uso preto...

1 - Everyone should know by now that I'm a makeup addict. And everytime a brand launches a new product, with a smart publicity, I have to have it. I got to know this gloss through a few of my favourite youtubers and since then it has been stuck is my everyday thoughts (yes, I am that superficial). Especially this week, that I'm in a red mood, this gloss goes straight to the podium of my wishlist.
2 - Do we need to get started on this bag? I chose the black one to show you, but I love all of them equally. It's so... argh. I want you!
3 - I don't actually own a pair of sneakers that are simple and pretty enough for a day-to-day wear and the new balance have been love-at-every-sight. They're elegant, have a slight heel on the back and are super confy. I inicially wanted the black ones, but then I got to the conclusion I needed to add some colour to my outfits, since I basically wear all black everyday...

My experience with roaccutane - 4th month

(Este é um post em que vos falo de uma experiência muito pessoal e que pode não interessar a toda a gente.)

O Joi de Vivre é um blogue sobre a vida. Ou melhor, sobre a alegria de viver. E como essa alegria não se fundamenta apenas em roupas, maquilhagem e viagens, hoje venho-vos falar de um assunto mais sério e, de certa forma, delicado.
Há cerca de um ano comecei a ficar com alguns quistos no rosto, coisa que nunca me tinha acontecido. Achei estranho, mas ao mesmo tempo calculei que fosse alguma alergia a um alimento ou mesmo um factor hormonal. Os quistos não desapareciam e, pior, foram-se espalhando pela cara toda.
Passados alguns meses, e vendo que a situação não melhorava por muitos produtos bons que eu usasse, resolvi ir ao dermatologista. O diagnóstico feito foi de acne comedónico e a dermatologista sugeriu que eu iniciasse o tratamento com roaccutane.
Eu concordei, só queria ter a minha pele lisa de volta.
Iniciei com uma dose diária de 20mg. O principal efeito secundário do medicamento é a desidratação do corpo, o que exige que eu ande sempre com um hidratante para os lábios comigo, beba bastante água e use hidratante para o corpo duas vezes por dia. Além disto, é completamente incompatível com uma gravidez (não está nos meus planos próximos).
Disse-vos que era um assunto muito pessoal e delicado porque eu tenho vindo a sentir um efeito secundário que nem toda a gente sente. Como sabem, este é um tratamento forte e violento, que provoca grandes choques no corpo (às vezes tenho enjoos e dores no estômago) e um deles foi na parte emocional. Nunca estive tão instável, tão insegura, tão... em baixo.
Há cerca de dois meses fui a um naturopata para as minhas consultas de rotina e falei-lhe do tratamento. Vim a saber por ele que o roaccutane é a causa da grande incidência de depressões em jovens na Inglaterra. Quando soube disto, não quis desistir do tratamento, mas tive receio.
Comecei a ter mais atenção ao meu humor e a controlar certas reacções. Desistir do tratamento não me passou pela cabeça, até porque algumas das pessoas que eu conheço fizeram o mesmo tratamento e hoje estão espectaculares.
Já se passaram 5 meses, a minha dose agora é de 30 mg e os quistos estão a ser ''empurrados'' para o exterior, causando borbulhas visíveis. Passada esta fase, a minha pele vai começar a recuperar e a secreção vai ser controlada até estabilizar, o que acontecerá daqui a cerca de 4 meses. Vou escrever todos os meses, a partir de agora, a minha evolução e sei que o relato vai começar a ser mais positivo à medida que o tratamento vai acabando.
O meu objectivo com este post é tentar chegar a alguém que talvez esteja a passar pelo mesmo, seja em que estado da ''doença'' for. Foi importante para mim, e ainda o é, ler sobre outras pessoas que passaram pelo mesmo, isso ajuda-me a manter-me optimista, e por isso penso que também posso vir a ser uma ajuda para alguém.
Obrigada por me ouvirem, por estarem desse lado, uns mais calados que outros, mas todos importantes para mim.

Joi de Vivre is a blog about life. Even better, a blog about the joy of being alive. And since it's not all about clothes and makeup, today I'm talking to you about a more serious and delicate subject.
About a year ago I started getting a few cysts on my face, something that I've never had before. I found it odd, but figured it was sort of a food allergy or an hormonal thing. But it wasn't going away, no matter what great products I used, and it actually spread all over my face so I decided to see a dermatologist. I then found out I had cystic acne and the doctor suggested the roaccutane treatment. I agreed, because I only wanted my great skin back.
I initiated the treatment with a 20mg dose. The main side effect was the dehydration of the body, which forces me to always carry a lip balm with me, drink a lot of water and apply a body butter twice a day. It's also completely incompatible with a pregnancy (not in my near plans).
I told you this is a very personal and delicate post because of a specific side effect I've been suffering from and not everybody doing this treatment gets to this point. As you know, this is a strong violent treatment to the body (I've often felt sick and had a few stomach burns) and it really affected my emotional state. I've never felt so unstable, insecure... so down. 
Two months ago I went to a homeopath for my routine visits and told him about this treatment. He then told me roaccutane is the cause of several cases of depression, especially among young people. I didn't feel like giving up on the treatment, but I certainly got a little bit scared.
I started paying more attention to my mood and my reactions. Giving up on the treatment didn't even cross my mind, also because a lot of the people I know doing it got excellent results.
It has now been 5 months since I started and I'm currently on a 30mg dose. The cysts are being ''pulled' out and turning into pimples so they can be released. After they're all out, my skin will start clearing up and the situation will be stable, which will happen in 4 months from now.
I'll start updating you every month on this topic and hopefully I'll be more optimistic, since my skin is supposed to get better from now on.
What I was hopping for, writing this post, is to reach some of you that are probably going through the same (or have gone through). It was important to me to read other people's personal opinions, it helped me staying more positive, and I hope this helps you too.

the world need nata

Arrisco-me a dizer que a gastronomia é a ''culpa'' da maior parte dos estrangeiros visitarem Portugal. Mais do que isso, acredito que são raras as pessoas que vêm a Lisboa e não compram pelo menos um dos famosos pastéis de Belém.

Pois eu tenho uma má notícia para dar aos senhores de Belém. Existe um novo pastel e este sim, na minha opinião, é o pastel pelo qual, só por si, vale a pena visitar Portugal.

No centro de Cascais, perto deste lindo carrossel, localiza-se o recentemente aberto The World Needs Nata. (Podem encontrar as diferentes lojas, espalhadas por Portugal, Espanha e França no site oficial) 

I'm pretty sure food is the number one reason people come to visit Portugal. More than that, I believe that only a few people (maybe they don't like to eat !?) come to Lisbon without trying at least one of the world famous Pastéis de Belém.

Well, I'm afraid I have bad news for the gentlemen in Belém. There's a new ''pastel'' and this one, I'm sure, is the one worth coming to Portugal for.

Right in the centre of Cascais, near this beautiful carrousel, you'll find the recently opened The World Need Nata. (You can find all the stores in their official website)

Se forem ao fim da tarde, por volta das 6h30, vão dar de caras (e de nariz) com estes deliciosos  pastéis que há pouco saíram do forno e tiveram tempo para ficar com a temperatura ideal.

If you go around 6h30pm, you'll face (and smell) these beauties that a few minutes got out of the oven and had enough time to get to the perfect temperature.

Um chá quente, uma ''caixa de 6'', e a minha pessoa favorita. Ainda dizem que é difícil ser feliz...

Apesar de que, depois de 3 pastéis comidos em 5 segundos, não há felicidade que suporte o pico de açúcar.
